Phonetic Alphabet

The Phonetic Alphabet is used to spell out letters in place of just saying the letter itself. By using a word for each letter there is less chance that the person listening will confuse letters. For instance, some letters that can easily be confused are “D” and “B”. Very useful in two way radio communication.

A = Alfa
B = Bravo
C = Charlie
D = Delta
E = Echo
F = Foxtrot
G = Golf
H = Hotel
I = India
J = Juliet
K = Kilo
L = Lima
M = Mike
N = November
O = Oscar
P = Papa
Q = Quebec (pronounce as keh BECK)
R = Romeo
S = Sierra (see AIR rah)
T = Tango
U = Uniform
V = Victor
W = Whisky
X = X-Ray
Y = Yankee
Z = Zulu (ZOO loo)

Hope you find it useful.
