Little surprises

I’ve just moved to a new section, Highway Structures and Bridges.

I was given a task to investigate a list of bridges, this initial investigation is to identify bridges need repairing or strengthening works.

I’ve been doing this for couple of days, there are more than 50 bridges (more are coming) on the list for my initial investigation.

Anyway, the task is repetitive and boring at this stage, don’t get me wrong, it will get exciting after this stage.

I’ve been looking at the archives , to my surprise, in one of the folders I found a couple of black and white photos, dated back to 1937! I also found a few hand written calculation sheets, amazing!

I can’t describe in words the feeling of looking at things that were produced 70 years ago and are still in very good condition. I can assure you the photo papers quality are much better to the contemporary ones. The hand writing, is almost perfect as if it was printed from computer.

These are precious things that we need to learn to appreciate.

By the way, I’ve just won the bid on a 1982 Nikon FG, can’t wait to Thursday!

Investigating bridges…. wondering if there’s this task in Malaysia or not. :p

    I don’t think I’ve seen a picture taken in 70 years back.

Enjoy playing with your new toy!
