This year’s Manchester Pride Parade starts at 2.00pm on Saturday 25 August 2007, and follows a great new route that sees the parade pass right through the heart of the city.

A carnival atmosphere will fill the streets of Manchester and is set to enthrall the thousands of spectators - young and old, gay and straight, friends and family - who come down to see the glamorous and the outrageously fabulous people who take part.

This year, we have a whole host of new entrants and some amazing costumes and entries.

Please note - you do not need Big Weekend tickets to watch the parade, however you will need them to get into the Big Weekend site in and around Canal Street afterwards!

Some people still refuse to use credit cards as I believe they were put off by the high interest. They are right, but if you pay off your outstanding amount at the end of the month, I don’t see the bad side of the credit cards.

There are credit cards who give you cash back. Some of them offer 0% credit cards, which has 0% interest on purchase for a certain period and some of them do 0% on transfer.

I am going to share my experience. I owed £500 on the plastic 3 months ago, the monthly interest is about £8 because I am paying the minimum payment. I have £1200 in my saving but I did not wish to clear the card because the money was set aside for my 3 weeks holiday to Malaysia.

I searched around on the net and found this card offer 0% on purchase and transfer for 12 months, I signed up without hesitate and transfer my old balance to the new one, then I put my £1200 into another saving with higher interest saving account to make sure it will clear the credit card at the end of 12 months. I also request the card limit to £1700 (they offer a lot more) so I won’t be over spending and make sure I keep up with the monthly payment to avoid any charges.

By doing so, I’ll save about £100 of total interest charged on my previous credit card balance, and earn some interest from my £1200 in the saving account.

Paris Hilton has reported to a Los Angeles County jail to begin a three-week stay for violating probation in an alcohol-related reckless driving case.

The 26-year-old heiress was booked late Sunday into the Century Regional Detention Facility in an industrial area about five miles southeast of downtown Los Angeles, according to the sheriff’s inmate locator Web site.

Though a judge sentenced her to 45 days behind bars, Hilton was expected to serve only 23 days because of a state law that requires shorter sentences for good behavior.

Earlier Sunday, Hilton attended the MTV Movie Awards, where she briefly spoke to reporters about her sentence.

“I am trying to be strong right now,” Hilton said. “I’m really scared but I’m ready to face my sentence.”

The 13-year-old jail has been an all-female facility since March 2006. The two-story concrete building sits in an industrial neighborhood, beside train tracks and beneath a bustling freeway.
