You don’t want to splash out hundreds of pounds for Adobe Acrobat Professional just to create a PDF file format, do you?

Good news, you can now create PDF, for FREE!!!

1. CutePDF
2. PDFCreator

I came across these softwares at work, we always having problems to send drawings out to publics, because not everyone has AutoCAD on their PC. The easiest way to do is to convert to JPG, but again, not everyone has the right software to view JPG (hello???), yeah, it’s true.

I’ve tried both, but I prefer CutePDF personally. It can create PDF files from any printable documents

Try it.

I will try to do a weekly sharing starting this week. So what’s this sharing about? Well, this sharing thingie will contain the blogs/ applications/ <s>pornography</s> photographys /ads /nice stuff /whatever on the www that catch my eyes and I think might interest you.

I will start the first week by sharing flock and 30 boxes

1. Flock - is another free browser that allows to share photos, stay up to date with your fav websites. It is a cool browser, even cooler than firefox.

2. 30 boxes - is a cool, neat and yet simple to use web calender. It allows you to share your calender with your friends and you can change the look!.

Both are still in beta version, but I am sure they will soon release the official version if they have our support!

What are you waiting?

Some of you might notice the overlay and shadow effects when you click on the thumbnails in my blog.

Wondering how I did that? It is fairly simple, all you need is a script call Lightbox JS installed.

So what is Lightbox JS?

Lightbox JS is a simple, unobtrusive script used to overlay images on the current page. It’s a snap to setup and works on all modern browsers.

You can see some examples in my blog history and my first site job, or for the lazy ones, click on the thumbnails below.

So how to install and use it?

To set up:
Include lightbox.js in your header.

Eg:
< script type="text/javascript" src="lightbox.js"></ script>

To use it:
Add rel=”lightbox” attribute to any link tag to activate the lightbox.

Eg:
1. For single image
< a href="images url here" rel=”lightbox” title=”your caption”>image #1</ a>

2. For images in sequence
< a href="images url here" rel=”lightbox”{groupname} title=”your caption”>image #1</ a>

That’s it, simple as ABC.

Download Lightbox JS 2
